Police in Kaduna State said it has arrested 38 suspected kidnappers, armed robbers and members of a gangster group called ‘Sara-Shuka’.
The State Commissioner of Police, Austin Iwar, who paraded the suspects at the Command headquarters, said 21 of the suspects were arrested in connection with kidnapping and armed robbery, while the remaining ones were suspected members of the notorious ‘Sara-Shuka’ gang.
The CP said items recovered from the suspected criminals were, three vehicles and 41 arms and ammunition.
The CP disclosed that three armed robbery syndicate were dislodge by the Command adding that the most significant of the success was the arrest of a notorious armed robbery syndicate operating along the Zaria-Kano expressway.
He said some of the suspects who were involved in kidnap for ransom and operating in Lere and Pambegua axis of Kabau and Zaria local government areas were also arrested.
CP Iwar said the suspects are helping the Police in their investigation with useful information and would be charged to court on completion of investigation, while assuring members of the public that the Command would not relent in its effort in fighting crime and criminality in the State.
