The Lagos State Police Command have arrested a 57-year-old herbalist, Tunde Ajibolorunsoro, AKA professor for allegedly abducting a five-year-old girl in Meiran area of Lagos State.
According to Police source the suspect sold the victim, Aishat Muyideen, to his neighbor, one Tajudeen Makanjuola, another herbalist for N60, 000.
The victim, Aishat was said to have gone missing on Wednesday, 25th September 2017, and was reported to the Police by the father, Yekini Muyideen at the Meiran division.
Police acting on a tip-off swung into action and picked up professor.The Lagos State Commissioner of Police, Edgal Imohimi who paraded the suspect said professor led Police operatives to arrest Makanjuola adding that the duo specializes in child kidnapping.
“The suspects specialize in kidnapping and selling of children. The father of the girl reported the case, and investigation commenced soon after. Investigation revealed that Ajibolorunsoro, aka professor, sold Aishat to one Makanjuola, aka Oluwo”, the CP said.
Meanwhile, when approached the suspects denied the allegation, insisting that he was tortured by the Police to confess to the crime. He admitted being a native doctor but denied kidnapping the five-year-old Aishat. However, dismissed the suspects claim whilst stating that will be arraigned in court on completion of investigation.
