Seven persons were on Tuesday arrested, the suspects included two ladies.Sources said the Military troops from 6 Division, Port Harcourt raided the camp and shrines of the suspected kidnapper kingpin ,one Igwedibia Johnson, a.k.a Don Waney, in Omoku, the headquarters of Ogba/Egbema/Ndoni Local Government Area of Rivers State.
His arrest came after the suspected kidnapper, Igwedibia Johnson had accepted the amnesty offer to repentant criminals by the administration of Governor Wike Nyesom.
The Army spokesperson Aminu Iliyasu, in a statement in Port Harcourt said that Johnson have been allegedly terrorizing the residents of Omoku and its environs Bayelsa State. He said, it is believed that Johnson was not at the location during the raid. Efforts are on to arrest him. The soldiers recovered items at the camp and shrines, which includes 10 human skulls, human bones, two AK-47 rifles, one General Purpose Machine Gun, 18 AK-47 rifles magazines, and four pairs of military camouflage.
Others are, five camouflage T-shirts, three Fabrique Nationale (FN) rifle magazines, 39 rounds of 7.62mm (NATO) ammunition, 20 rounds of 9mm ammunition, one round of 7.62mm (special) ammunition, two bags weighing about 25 kg containing substances believed to be cannabis, three ICOM handled radio sets and two MAG ONE handled radio sets.
