Lawyer to the media aide to former military president, Ibrahim Babangida, Kayode Ajulo has said that Kassim Afegbua would present himself to the Police on Wednesday.
This follows the declaration by the Nigeria Police Force, that Kassim Afegbua should report himself to the nearest Police Station, for making false statements, injurious falsehood, defamation of character and for act capable of inciting public disturbance throughout the country.
In a statement Kassim`s lawyer explained that his client was not invited by the Police before he was declared wanted by the Inspector General of Police, Ibrahim Idris, on Monday.
He added that Kassim has been advised of his rights and remedies available to him, as a law-abiding citizen of Nigeria, he has elected to make himself available to the Police on Wednesday once he returns from his trip.
It could be recalled that the order for the arrest of the former journalist followed two statements purportedly written by the former military dictator, which bordered on the 2019 elections, herdsmen/farmers` crisis and other national issues.
