Lagos Police Parades Gang Leader Who Killed GUS Winner; Recovers 10 Stolen Vehicles

Operatives of the Lagos State Police Command have arrested the leader of the gang that murdered the winner of Gulder Ultimate Search, Hector Jobateh, who was trailed and shot in his house at Oko Oba, by hoodlums in August.

According to Police source, the suspect, one Ismail Adeyemi, was arrested after weeks of intensive manhunt by operatives of Lagos State Police Command.

The Lagos State Commissioner of Police, Edgal Imohimi who paraded the suspect alongside others at the Command Headquarters, Ikeja said the suspect have confessed to the crime and led operatives to Sango Gas line, Ijoko, were his operational gun was recovered.

CP Imohimi said a revolver pistol and 9 rounds of live ammunition was recovered from the suspect. Meanwhile, the suspect while speaking said he was contacted by someone whom he called KK to carry out the act. It will be recall that his other gang members have been nabbed by operatives of the Lagos State Police Command weeks back, however, the Ismail Adeyemi who led the gang to kill Hector Jobateh evaded arrest.

In another development, the Command also paraded suspected car snatchers, who specialize in robbing victims of their car at gun point in Lagos metropolis and its environs. The CP said six vehicles of different brands were recovered and the suspects arrested.Other suspects were paraded for armed robbery, burglary cultists at the Command Headquarters. CP Imohimisaid all the suspects arrested would be charged to court on completion of investigation, while appealing to members of the public to always provide Police with useful information.

“Within this period, six vehicles of different brand stolen at gun point from Lagos State and sold at Enugu were tracked and recovered from hoodlums in and out of the State. Ten suspects that specialize in robbing people at gun point and driven the vehicle to Enugu with false registration numbers were also arrested”, the CP said.

The Lagos Police Boss explained that all the recovered vehicles have been returned to Lagos while calling on victims to come to the command for identification and collection of their vehicle

The CP gave the names of the suspects as; Abayomi James, Omokaro Efe, Joseph Uzo, Chukwudi Onyeamara, Melvin Ume, Nsima Uta, Samuel Sokombi, Ahmed Waheed, Augustine Uchenna and Udo Benedict.The Police Commissioner admonished criminal elements thatit just not enough to snatch vehicles in Lagos and believe that it is over, adding that the Command under his watch will track all cars stolen either at gun point or removed from were parked and taken to any location back to Lagos and ensure that all concerned are arrested.
