Operatives of the Federal Special Anti-Robbery Squad of Ogun State Police Command have arrested two different suspected syndicates who specialize in buying and selling of human parts, including skulls, eyes and teeth.
Parading the suspects, the State Commissioner of Police, Ahmed Iliyasu said the suspects specialize in killing for ritual purposes and added that the four suspects belonged to two different ritual syndicates and were arrested in Totoro area of Abeokuta on Thursday by Operatives of FSARS.
The CP said the suspects were sighted on a motorcycle with suspicious a bag by policemen who were on patrol and were stopped for a search. The search led to the discovery of fresh and dried human parts, dead lizards and charms. CP Iliyasu described them as serial killers.
He said the second syndicate was arrested the same day by operatives of FSARS at Owode-Egba area of the State after receiving information about them, he said they were trailed to their hideout where they were arrested with human skulls and bones.
One member of the suspected syndicate, Adebayo Mubashiru confessed that he and his colleagues buy human parts for N12, 000, but denied he was a serial killer, adding that they were only looking for how to get quick money.
The Commissioner of Police, Ahmed Iliyasu, said they will be charged to court on completion of investigation.
