The Kwara State Police Command has arrested a suspected ritualist with seven human skulls allegedly exhumed from a cemetery for ritual purpose.
Parading the suspect yesterday at the Command headquarters in Ilorin, the State Commissioner of Police, Lawan Ado said the suspect was arrested along Ilorin-Ajase Ipo Road with a sack containing the seven human heads.
He said the heads were exhumed from a cemetery located at Igbo Owu community in the Ifelodun Local Government Area of the State on Tuesday, adding that they were allegedly exhumed for ritual purpose and that Police are on the trail of the second suspect who is on the run.
The suspect identified as Olayinka Abbas Akeem, said he was lured into the business by his friend Tunde a.k.a Bante who convinced him that the surest way to get rich was via money rituals, as that was what everybody is doing secretly to live a comfortable life.
The suspect who expressed remorse after being caught, pleaded with the Police to hand him over to God for divine punishment, because he would do same if someone exhumed the remains of his parents or relatives for ritual purpose.
Meanwhile, the CP Lawan Ado said the suspect would be charged to court on completion of investigations.
