The Lagos State Police Command has bust a suspected kidnapping syndicates who specializes in kidnapping and selling children between Lagos, Abia and Anambra States.
Parading the suspects alongside others at the Command Headquarters, Ikeja, the Lagos State acting Commissioner of Police, Edgal Imohimi said a case of conspiracy and kidnapping was reported by one Olabisi Yanga who Claimed that her son one Gabriel Yanga, seven years-old had been kidnaped.
The CP said based on the report received, a team of crack detectives were deployed to Owerri, Imo State, where one Kingsley Oriaku was arrested and upon interrogation confessed to have kidnapped the boy and sold him to an unknown orphanage home prophetess at the cost of N120, 000.
“The suspect further confessed that he had earlier sold his two biological children to the same prophetess at the cost of N190, 000. Consequently enquiry led to Rivers, Abia, and Anambra States respectively where two female suspects namely Adaorah Obi and Loveth Nwanawo were arrested and have admitted they bought the child and resold at the cost of N500, 000”, CP Edgal said.
According to CP Edgal, the child was later recovered at Ajalli village, Orumba North Local Government Area of Anambra State and has since been reunited with the mother. He maintained that investigation has been concluded and the suspects would be charged to court.
In another development, the Commissioner of Police, Imohimi Edgal said the Command has arrested 12 suspected cultist, 20 suspected armed robbers, and 4 suspected Badoo members.
It will be recall that Crime Fighters had reported the murder of a Redeemed Christian Church of God Pastor, one Victor who was murdered in the early hours of November 25th, 2017 by four armed men who invaded his home, killed him in cold blood.
The CP said the Command have arrested two suspects in connection with the crime, adding that the Mobile phone and sim card of the deceased was recovered from the suspects. He gave their names as Ibrahim Anifowose and Uche Igwe.
Edgal said the suspects are helping the Police in their investigation.
