The Commissioner of Police, Akwa Ibom State Police Command, Zubairu Muazu says he will leave no stone unturned in his determination to bring those behind last Sunday’s killings in Ukanafun L.G.A of the State to justice.
The CP has raised a crack team of detectives to comb the crime infested area to crackdown on the perpetrators of the heinous crimes where three persons including a sister to the State Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Mr. Udo Ekpeyong were killed.
Speaking with journalist, the State Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Bala Elkana, said the Command will not leave any stone unturned in going after the culprits behind last Sunday’s incident, adding that the Commissioner was in the area on a fact finding mission over a previous incident when the tragic incident happened.
DSP Elkana said that Police have banned the use of motorcycles in Ukanafun and Etim Ekpo Local Government Areas, from 6pm to 7am, adding that the ban was necessary because hoodlums in the two local government areas have been using motorcycles for some time now to commit crime.
He urged the residents of the affected areas and other citizens of the State to cooperate with the Police, by volunteering information concerning the hoodlums to the Police. He explained that the stakeholders in Etim Ekpo L.G.A have agreed to work with the Police to bring an end to the crisis in the area.
