Bauchi State Governor, Bala Mohammed, has urged Muslims to draw inspiration from the life and teachings of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) by promoting peace, honesty, compassion, patience and selflessness in their daily lives.
The Governor made the call in a goodwill message to Muslim faithful in Bauchi State and across Nigeria as they celebrate the 2026 Eid-el-Maulud, which commemorates the birth of the Holy Prophet Muhammad.
In a statement issued on Tuesday by his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Mukhtar Gidado, Mohammed thanked Almighty Allah for granting Nigerians the opportunity to witness another Maulud celebration.
He described the occasion as a period for spiritual renewal and reflection, urging Muslims and other citizens to strengthen their relationship with Allah and fellow human beings while embracing righteousness, kindness and peaceful coexistence.
The Governor said the Prophet’s teachings on truthfulness, generosity, tolerance, service and compassion remain relevant to society, particularly at a time when the country is confronted with various challenges.
Mohammed also urged residents of Bauchi to preserve the spirit of unity and brotherhood, stressing that the state’s ethnic, cultural and religious diversity should be regarded as an asset rather than a cause for division.
He said the continued progress of Bauchi depended on the ability of its people to respect their differences, reject discrimination and work together for the common good.
The Governor further appealed to Muslim faithful to use the celebration to intensify prayers for peace, security and economic prosperity in Bauchi State and Nigeria.
He assured residents that his administration would remain focused on its development agenda, with continued attention to key sectors such as healthcare, education, agriculture and infrastructure.
According to him, the government would sustain efforts to complete ongoing projects and establish a lasting foundation for development and improved living standards across the state.
Mohammed also reiterated that security, peace and the protection of lives and property remained priorities of his administration. He said security agencies would continue to work to safeguard residents and maintain law and order.
The Governor warned against acts capable of threatening the peace of the state, including incitement, violence and attempts to exploit ethnic or religious differences, stressing that offenders would be dealt with in accordance with the law.
He appreciated the people of Bauchi for their continued support and cooperation, while wishing the Muslim Ummah a peaceful, safe and blessed Eid-el-Maulud celebration.
The Governor prayed for Allah’s continued guidance, protection and prosperity for Bauchi State and Nigeria.
