The fixture is scheduled for 5pm local time, which is 4pm Nigerian time.
Head Coach Moses Aduku said the Nigerian side is fully prepared for the encounter and determined to secure all three points from their opening game.
Aduku acknowledged Spain’s quality but said his players would approach the contest with the intensity of a final as they seek a winning start to the tournament.
“We are looking forward to the match against Spain with high expectations. We are ready and set to go. Spain is a good side no doubt. However, we will approach the game like a Cup final because we want to win,” he said.
The coach believes victory over Spain would give Nigeria a strong platform as they prepare for their other Group F matches against China and New Caledonia.
Spain enter the tournament as one of the leading teams in women’s youth football. They finished runners-up in 2018 before claiming the championship two years later in Costa Rica.
Nigeria also have an impressive record at the competition, having reached the final on two occasions.
The Falconets first appeared in the final in 2010 but lost to hosts Germany. They returned to the title decider in 2014, where
Germany again denied them the trophy after extra time.
With both sides carrying strong tournament credentials, Nigeria will hope to produce an impressive performance against the reigning champions and secure an early advantage in the group.
The Falconets will face China on Thursday before rounding off their Group F fixtures against New Caledonia on Sunday.
