The Inspector-General of Police, IGP Olatunji Rilwan Disu, on Thursday hosted the Director-General of the National Orientation Agency (NOA), Mallam Lanre Issa-Onilu, during a courtesy visit to the Force Headquarters in Abuja.
During the visit, the NOA Director-General reaffirmed the agency’s commitment to promoting patriotism, civic responsibility and national orientation across the country through sustained public enlightenment initiatives.
He identified the Nigeria Identity Project and the National Values Charter as key programmes designed to strengthen national unity and encouraged deeper collaboration between the agency and the Nigeria Police Force in public sensitisation, intelligence sharing and efforts aimed at preventing conflicts before they escalate.
Responding, the Inspector-General of Police stressed the importance of professionalism, ethical policing and respect for human dignity as essential pillars for building public confidence in the Nigeria Police Force.
He also called on Nigerians to verify information before sharing it on social media, noting that responsible use of digital platforms is crucial to promoting peace and discouraging the spread of misinformation.
The police chief reaffirmed the Force’s commitment to strengthening its partnership with the National Orientation Agency in advancing national security, responsible citizenship and sustainable national development.
