The Nigeria Police Force has commissioned three new facilities at the Special Protection Unit
(SPU) Base 7 in Abuja as part of ongoing efforts to improve operational efficiency and enhance the
welfare of personnel.
The development was revealed in a statement issued on Friday by the Force Public Relations Officer, CSP Ani Iniedu.
The newly inaugurated projects include a modern Armourer Office, a Provost Office, and a fully equipped Sick Bay with a Pharmacy. The facilities were conceived and executed under the leadership of the Commanding Officer of SPU Base 7, CSP Hassan Adamu.
The projects were officially commissioned by the Assistant Inspector-General of Police in charge of the Special Protection Unit, AIG Olufemi Haruna, who represented the Inspector-General of Police, IGP Olatunji Rilwan Disu, during the ceremony.
Speaking at the event, AIG Haruna described the projects as being in line with the Inspector-General’s vision of strengthening infrastructure while prioritising the welfare and effectiveness of police personnel.
He commended CSP Hassan Adamu for his initiative, dedication and leadership in delivering the projects, noting that the facilities would improve service delivery and operational readiness within the unit.
The AIG also encouraged other police commanders to emulate the initiative by investing in projects that promote the well-being and efficiency of officers under their command.
The Nigeria Police Force reiterated its commitment to improving the health, safety and operational capacity of its personnel through sustained infrastructure development and welfare-focused initiatives across its commands and formations.
