The Nigeria Police Force has recorded major operational successes across several states, with the arrest of suspected kidnappers, armed robbers, cultists and homicide suspects, alongside the rescue of kidnap victims and recovery of firearms during coordinated security operations.
According to a police operational summary released on Tuesday, investigations are ongoing in all cases while efforts have been intensified to apprehend fleeing suspects.
In Nasarawa State, operatives arrested a wanted suspect linked to the earlier recovery of a locally fabricated pistol and other exhibits. Three hotel workers were also taken into custody to assist investigations into a suspected murder case.
In Bauchi State, police apprehended two suspected informants believed to have aided a kidnapping operation, while two suspected armed robbers were arrested during a separate operation. Authorities said efforts are underway to track down other fleeing suspects.
In Ekiti State, operatives of the Rapid Response Squad rescued a 17-year-old abducted victim from a suspect’s residence and arrested one suspect in connection with the crime. The victim was taken for medical treatment after the rescue.
In Enugu State, a joint security team rescued two kidnapped victims during a forest operation. The victims were treated and reunited with their families, while security operatives continue to pursue the fleeing kidnappers.
In Gombe State, detectives arrested a suspect in connection with an ongoing homicide investigation.
In Imo State, police raided a suspected cult initiation camp, arresting one alleged cult member. The operation also led to the recovery of two Beretta pistols, one locally made pistol and live ammunition. Police said efforts are continuing to arrest other fleeing members of the group.
In Jigawa State, six suspects were arrested over their alleged involvement in a violent attack that resulted in the death of a victim.
In Katsina State, police operatives rescued four kidnapped victims during anti-banditry operations. Clearance operations are ongoing to secure the release of other victims still in captivity.
In Plateau State, joint security personnel rescued two kidnapped victims unharmed and arrested two suspects. An AK-47 rifle loaded with 30 rounds of live ammunition was also recovered during the operation.
In Rivers State, police acting on credible intelligence arrested a robbery suspect and recovered a stolen tricycle.
In Delta State, officers rescued a victim of an attempted murder attack and rushed him to hospital for treatment. One suspect was arrested, while security agencies continue to search for an accomplice who remains at large.
In Edo State, police recovered an Italian-made pistol abandoned by fleeing suspects during a stop-and-search operation. Investigations are ongoing to identify and arrest those involved.
In Ogun State, detectives arrested a suspect over an alleged human trafficking and fraudulent migration scheme, while efforts have been intensified to apprehend other members of the syndicate.
In Oyo State, police raided a criminal hideout and arrested three suspected armed robbers. The operation also led to the recovery of a locally made firearm and seven live cartridges.
The Nigeria Police Force said all cases have been transferred to the respective State Criminal Investigation Departments for further investigation and prosecution, while reaffirming its commitment to combating crime and enhancing public safety across the country.
