Several players of Nigeria’s senior women’s national team, the Super Falcons, have reportedly fallen victim to theft during their stay at the Marriott Hotel in Casablanca, Morocco.The incident was said to have occurred while the players were away from their hotel rooms, sparking concerns over the security arrangements at the team’s accommodation.
According to reports, forward Esther Okoronkwo allegedly lost $700, while team captain Rasheedat Ajibade reportedly had $200 stolen from her room.
Veteran defender Osinachi Ohale is also said to have lost $100, with midfielder Halimatu Ayinde reportedly missing $100. Another player, Joy Omewa, allegedly lost $120.
In total, the affected players reportedly lost $1,220.
As of the time of filing this report, neither the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) nor officials of the Marriott Hotel in Casablanca had issued an official statement regarding the alleged theft.
