The investigation into a 36-year-old woman arrested over the alleged exploitation of her seven-year-old daughter for explicit online content has taken a new dimension following fresh claims by human rights activist Israel Joe.
Joe, in a statement shared on social media, alleged that the case may be connected to a broader network involved in producing and distributing disturbing adult content to overseas subscribers.
According to the activist, some wealthy foreign clients allegedly finance the production of such material, with women reportedly being paid to carry out various activities for online audiences.
Joe further claimed that several other women were involved in similar activities on the platform allegedly used by the suspect, and urged law enforcement authorities to investigate the wider network rather than treat the case as an isolated incident.
He also alleged that some of the foreign clients had become aware of the woman’s arrest and were attempting to mobilise funds to secure legal representation for her and influence the outcome of the case.
The activist called on the police and prosecutors handling the matter to remain vigilant against any attempt to compromise the investigation or interfere with the judicial process.
Joe also claimed that members of the alleged network operate private online groups where explicit material is shared and participants are paid for carrying out increasingly disturbing acts for paying subscribers.
He said his ongoing investigation into such platforms had uncovered activities involving a number of women and warned parents to pay closer attention to their children’s online activities.
The activist further alleged that individuals connected to the network could attempt to report or target social media accounts belonging to people exposing the activities.
Joe said he had personally accessed some of the platforms as part of his investigation and promised to release further information about what he described as an organised online exploitation network.
The claims have not been independently verified, and the identities of the alleged foreign clients or other individuals reportedly linked to the network remain unclear.
The police are yet to publicly confirm the wider allegations raised by the activist or disclose the outcome of their investigation into the woman’s arrest.
