A gas fire at an outlet around Liberty Junction, Kubwa, Abuja, triggered panic among residents on Sunday morning.
The incident occurred at about 6:30am, prompting a swift response from the Federal Fire Service, FCT Command, and other emergency responders.
According to the command, the firefighters successfully brought the blaze under control, preventing it from escalating into a major gas explosion.
The Federal Fire Service disclosed this in a statement shared on its Facebook page on Sunday.
The command said its personnel and other emergency responders arrived at the scene shortly after the fire was reported and worked to contain the situation.
A video released alongside the statement showed firefighters battling the blaze at the facility, with parts of the building badly damaged and thick smoke billowing from the site.
Some vehicles and motorcycles parked around the gas outlet also appeared to have been affected by the fire.
The cause of the incident was not immediately known.
The Federal Fire Service also did not disclose the extent of the damage or whether anyone was injured or killed in the incident.
