The Inspector-General of Police, IGP Olatunji Disu, is set to launch the Nigeria Police Force (NPF) Vigilant App and the MTN Closed User Group (CUG) Network as part of efforts to strengthen technology-driven policing and improve communication within the Force.
This was disclosed in a statement issued on Monday by the Force Public Relations Officer, CSP Ani Iniedu, at the Force Headquarters, Abuja.
According to the statement, the launch is scheduled for Tuesday, September 1, 2026, at the Nigeria Police Resource Centre, Abuja.
The NPF Vigilant App is designed to enhance communication and information sharing between the Police and members of the public, while the MTN CUG Network will provide police personnel with a dedicated communication platform for faster and more effective internal communication.
The initiatives are part of ongoing efforts by the Nigeria Police Force to deploy modern technology and strategic partnerships in strengthening policing and improving operational efficiency.
The IGP, the statement added, remains committed to leveraging innovation and technology to enhance internal coordination, improve service delivery and make policing more responsive to the needs of Nigerians.
The Force reaffirmed its commitment to adopting innovative solutions and strategic partnerships to strengthen its operations and provide more efficient and people-centred security services across the country.
