The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has started uploading results from Saturday’s Osun State governorship election to its Result Viewing Portal, IReV.
As of 4:03 p.m., results from 402 out of the 3,763 polling units expected across the state had been uploaded, representing 10.68 per cent of the total.
The latest result uploaded at the time was from polling unit 29/02/04/006 at 4:03:10 p.m., as the collation process continued across the state’s 30 local government areas.
The IReV platform enables voters, political parties, observers and other stakeholders to monitor results from individual polling units as they are uploaded by INEC.
The commission’s Result Stats section showed continuous updates as more results were received, with users able to refresh the portal to view the latest figures.
The election is being contested by several candidates, including incumbent Governor Ademola Adeleke of the Accord Party, All Progressives Congress candidate Bola Oyebamiji and African Democratic Congress candidate Najeem Salaam.
With just over 10 per cent of the expected results uploaded as of press time, the process remained in its early stages, with more results expected as collation progresses from polling units to ward and local government levels.
