Ubiribo reportedly underwent the procedure while on holiday in Bangkok with his wife, Danielle Simba Allen.
According to the Daily Mail, about 40 millilitres of hyaluronic acid and lidocaine were injected into his penis at a clinic in Thailand in March.
After the procedure, Ubiribo and his wife reportedly returned to their Marriott hotel, where they went for a massage.
He developed chest pain during the massage and subsequently collapsed twice before being taken by ambulance to Sukhumvit Hospital.
Medical personnel initially found him responsive. However, after his wife informed them that he had recently undergone penis filler injections, doctors suspected he had suffered a pulmonary embolism and recommended a CT scan.
Ubiribo reportedly lost consciousness before the scan could be conducted and was transferred to intensive care.
Doctors carried out cardiopulmonary resuscitation for more than 100 minutes but were unable to revive him. He died in the early hours of March 6.
CORONER LINKS DEATH TO COSMETIC PROCEDURE
An autopsy conducted in the UK later found cellular material in Ubiribo’s lungs that was consistent with hyaluronic acid.
Pathologist John du Parcq told an inquest at the Inner West London Coroners’ Court that the material found in the lungs matched the substance used during the procedure.
He said the findings were consistent with a pulmonary embolism and also corresponded with the results of an autopsy carried out in Thailand.
Coroner Jean Harkin subsequently ruled that Ubiribo’s death was caused by a pulmonary embolism resulting from the cosmetic procedure.
A pulmonary embolism occurs when a blood vessel supplying the lungs becomes blocked. In severe cases, it can rapidly reduce blood flow to the lungs and put significant pressure on the heart.
MEDICAL HISTORY
Evidence from Ubiribo’s London doctor showed that he had previously undergone joint surgery and had been described as pre-diabetic and suffering from gout.
However, his doctor reportedly told the inquest that he had no other significant medical conditions.
Hyaluronic acid injections are sometimes used as a non-surgical method of increasing penile girth, but medical professionals have warned that injectable fillers can cause serious complications.
BUSINESSMAN KNOWN FOR LAVISH LIFESTYLE
Ubiribo was popular on social media, where he regularly showcased his affluent lifestyle to his approximately 185,000 Instagram followers.
He reportedly owned a home in Los Angeles valued at about $1.1 million and an apartment in London worth around $600,000.

His funeral was held in London, where he was buried in a gold coffin reportedly valued at more than $600,000.
Afrobeats star Davido attended the funeral and reportedly described Ubiribo as a childhood friend.
The singer expressed shock over his death, recalling Ubiribo as a man with remarkable energy and presence.
The case has sparked fresh concerns about the risks associated with cosmetic penis enlargement procedures involving injectable fillers, despite hyaluronic acid being widely used in other cosmetic treatments.
