Adeleye Adeniyi, a mini-truck driver from Ado-Ekiti, Ekiti State, says he has borrowed ₦3.5 million to support the re-election bids of President Bola Tinubu, Senate Leader Opeyemi Bamidele and state lawmaker Steve Fatoba.

Adeniyi, popularly called “Online Loan Man for BAO”, disclosed this in a video interview with journalists circulating on Friday, displaying a cardboard cheque bearing the amounts he pledged to the three politicians.

The cheque indicated ₦2 million for Tinubu, ₦1 million for Bamidele and ₦500,000 for Fatoba.

He said he was willing to campaign for the politicians ahead of the forthcoming elections because he believed their performance in office justified another term.

Explaining his support for Tinubu, Adeniyi said he had taken the loan to contribute to the President’s second-term ambition, which he believes deserves public backing.

“I am supporting Mr President, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, for his second-term ambition. I have borrowed money. I want to use this money to support him because he’s doing a very great job,” he said.

The driver also pledged to campaign for Tinubu, saying he planned to use a campaign song to mobilise support for the President.

He appealed to Nigerians to vote for Tinubu, Bamidele and Fatoba, expressing optimism that another term for the President would bring further benefits to citizens.

“I will appeal to my fellow Nigerians that we should demonstrate love by giving him, by voting him for his second term in office, because we are still going to see much more, more than what we have received,” he added.

Adeniyi also commended Bamidele and Ekiti State Governor Biodun Oyebanji for what he described as their contributions to healthcare, education, electricity and rural development across the state.

Speaking about Bamidele, he said the lawmaker’s support for development projects had strengthened his confidence in his leadership.

He expressed hope that the Senate Leader would attain greater heights, describing his contributions as a source of encouragement.

The driver had earlier drawn public attention in February 2026 after reportedly obtaining a loan through the digital lending platform OPay to brand a vehicle in support of Oyebanji’s re-election campaign.

Adeniyi, who operates around the BAO Timber Market along Ilawe Road in Ado-Ekiti, had attributed the decision to his admiration for the governor’s administration.

He also praised Oyebanji and Tinubu for their policies on education, healthcare and public welfare, urging residents to support the governor’s second-term bid.

In the latest video, Adeniyi said he had taken another loan to demonstrate his commitment to supporting the three politicians’ re-election campaigns.
