The Police Service Commission (PSC) has elevated the Federal Capital Territory Police Command’s spokesperson, Josephine Adeh, from Superintendent of Police (SP) to Chief Superintendent of Police (CSP), as part of the promotion of more than 3,800 senior officers.

The promotions were approved at the Commission’s plenary meeting in Abuja on Thursday. Other beneficiaries include two Deputy Inspectors-General of Police (DIGs), 10 Assistant Inspectors-General of Police (AIGs) and 17 Commissioners of Police (CPs).

According to the Commission, the promotions followed the successful completion of promotion examinations and oral interviews conducted to assess the officers’ suitability for higher ranks.

The PSC’s Head of Protocol and Public Relations, Torty Njoku Kalu, announced the development in a statement issued in Abuja, noting that the meeting was chaired by the Commission’s Chairman, DIG Hashimu Salihu Argungu (retd.).

Adeh, who handles public communication for the FCT Police Command, was among the officers promoted from SP to CSP.

Her elevation comes as the command continues to communicate police activities, security developments and crime prevention efforts across Abuja and its surrounding communities.

Another beneficiary in the same category is the Adamawa State Police Command’s spokesperson, Suleiman Yahaya Nguroje, who was also promoted from SP to CSP.

At the senior management level, the Commission approved the promotion of AIG Olaolu Adegbite, head of the INTERPOL National Central Bureau in Abuja, and AIG Dankombo F. Morris, head of Zone 4 Headquarters in Makurdi, to the rank of Deputy Inspector-General of Police.
