A United States Air Force C-17 Globemaster III aircraft has delivered military equipment to the Nigerian Air Force, further strengthening the defence and security cooperation between Nigeria and the United States.

The delivery, carried out last weekend, was described by the U.S. Africa Command (AFRICOM) as a reflection of the expanding security partnership between both countries.

AFRICOM said the equipment was supplied under a Foreign Military Sales agreement aimed at enhancing bilateral defence cooperation and supporting efforts to tackle terrorism and other security challenges confronting the region.

“Partnership in action,” AFRICOM said in a post on X, while highlighting the latest delivery as part of ongoing U.S.-Nigeria military cooperation.

The development underscores the commitment of both countries to deepening collaboration in defence and strengthening Nigeria’s capacity to respond to emerging security threats.
